Momjan muscat is yet something special. It is a sort of white grapes which grows in the limited area of Momjan surroundings. It thrives on a marly soil in a submediterranean position on 200 to 350 m above the sea level. In this area muscat dates back from 17th century when it was brought here by settlers from Carnia Friuli. During the centuries due to the particularities of the climate and the soil the Momjan muscat has assumed almost perfect characteristics.
